The wait for the outstanding DA arrears of 18 months of Central employees-pensioners (7th Pay Commission Central Government employees) is getting longer. Earlier the news was coming that this will be considered in the meeting to be chaired by PM Narendra Modi on 3 August. It could be done, but it did not happen. Now news is coming that soon the Joint Consultative Mechanism (JSM) meeting of the officials of Department of Personnel and Training and Department of Expenditure (DOPT), Ministry of Finance can be held and the final decision can be taken. Is. However, there has been no official confirmation from the government.

In fact, more than 1 crore central employees-pensioners (7th Pay Commission) have arrears of dearness allowance from January 2020 to June 2021, on which the decision has not been taken yet, although the Central Employees and Pensioners’ Organization has arrears in this regard. Several rounds of meetings have been held with the government and discussions are still going on, but no solution has been found so far. In the past, the pensioners organization has also written a letter to PM Narendra Modi, appealing for early settlement of the arrears. The same employees organization has also talked about a negotiated settlement to the government. If the government pays, then the arrears in the month of August or September. DA arrears i.e. 11 percent of the increased DA can be transferred to the account.

It is expected that a big meeting will be held in this regard soon and a final decision can be taken in the coming cabinet meeting. There is a possibility that a decision can be taken on this before the end of August and the amount can be sent to the account of the employees in September. Can be given in the form of installment. If this happens, then 48 lakh central government employees and more than 68 lakh pensioners will get the benefit.

  • The employees will get the DA arrear money according to their salary band.
    Shivgopal Mishra of the National Council of JCM says that the DA arrears of Level-1 employees range from Rs 11,880 to Rs 37,554.
  • If calculated for Level-13 (7th CPC basic pay scale Rs 1,23,100 to Rs 2,15,900) or Level-14 (pay scale), dearness allowance arrears in the hands of an employee is Rs 1,44,200 to 2 Rs 18,200 will be paid.
  • If the employee’s basic salary is Rs 18,000, he can get arrears of DA for 3 months (4,320+3,240+4,320) = Rs 11,880.
  • If the basic salary of the employee is Rs 56,000 he will get DA arrear of 3 months (13,656 + 10,242 + 13,656) = Rs 37,554.
  • Level-13 (7th CPC Basic Pay-Scale Rs. 1,23,100 to Rs. 2,15,900). The DA arrears for Level-14 (Pay-Scale) is Rs.
