In a rapidly digitized world, online fraud has increased at the same rate. Banking fraud and online fraud have increased rapidly due to Corona epidemic. In view of the increasing online frauds, State Bank of India (SBI) has advised people to keep the password of netbanking or mobile banking strong.
By adopting some special methods, you can make your password strong. This will help you to avoid online fraud. With a strong password, you can protect your money and information to an extent.
In these ways the password can be made strong
- The password should be a combination of both uppercase and lowercase. Like – aBjsE7uG.
- Use both numbers and symbols in the password. Like – AbjsE7uG61!@
- There should be at least 8 letters in your password. eg – aBjsE7uG
- Do not use common dictionary words like itislocked and thisismypassword.
- Keyboard paths such as ‘qwerty’ or ‘asdfg’ should not be used. Use “:)”, “:/” instead.
- Do not create too common passwords such as 12345678 or abcdefg.
- Don’t use easy-to-guess substitutions. Eg – DOORBELL-DOOR8377
Do not link the password with your name and date of birth. Like – Ramesh@1967.

Home Ministry and Cyber Cell of Delhi Police has started 155260 helpline. If you are a victim of any kind of online fraud, then call on this number immediately. This helpline number is available 24×7 in Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. In other states and UTs it is available from 10 am to 6 pm.
This is the cyber portal,
to prevent the incidents of online fraud, the cyber portal of the Ministry of Home Affairs https://cybercrime. gov.in/ and Cyber Cell of Delhi Police with 155260 pilot project started in November last year but now it has been fully launched. This is such a platform of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination, whose first user has become Delhi.

with an interconnect platform named ‘Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting System’ with about 55 banks, e-wallets, e-commerce sites, payment gateways and other institutions. Through this platform, victims of online financial frauds can be saved in a very short time.
