8th Pay Commission: Members of the 8th Pay Commission will soon be constituted for the central employees. Members for this new pay commission will be constituted on April 2025. This commission can take decisions regarding the allowances received in the salary of central employees.

If media reports are to be believed, this new pay commission can make dearness allowance zero. However, this has not been confirmed yet. At present, central employees get 53 percent of the basic salary as DA.

These changes will be made regarding allowances

According to the information received in this regard, a big decision can be taken regarding Dearness Allowance in the 8th Pay Commission. It is being said that dearness allowance is going to be zero. At present, the government increases dearness allowance twice a year. This dearness allowance is increased by about 3 to 4 percent.

When will the recommendation of the 8th Pay Commission be implemented

According to the information received about this, the recommendations taken by the 8th Pay Commission can be implemented by January 2026. Under these recommendations, DA can be made zero. Apart from this, changes can be made regarding many allowances available in the salary of central employees.

What is DA: What is dearness allowance?

Central employees currently get 53 percent of the basic salary as dearness allowance. In simple words, DA is the additional amount received by the employees along with the basic salary. Its calculation is currently done on the basic salary.

This allowance is given to the central employees due to rising inflation, so that inflation has less impact on them.

A time when no dearness allowance was received

According to the information received about this, during the time of Kovid-19, the Central Government had stopped the dearness allowance of all the employees. The government did not give any dearness allowance to the central employees for 18 months from January 2020 to June 2021.

Since then, the employees have been demanding the arrears of this period. The government increases the dearness allowance twice every year. This increase is done once for January to June and the second time for July to December.

Apart from this, it has also been seen that the dearness allowance coming from January to June is announced in March. At the same time, the increase in dearness allowance from July to December is announced in July to December.

This allowance is given to the central employees due to rising inflation, so that inflation has less impact on them.
