8th Pay Commission: Government employees and pensioners waiting for the eighth pay commission may get a big shock. Know what is the latest update…

There have been continuous news about the eighth pay commission for a long time. It seems that the government can give a big shock to crores of central employees and pensioners. Once again information related to the eighth pay commission has come to the fore.

According to our partner Financial Express, the government may not constitute the eighth pay commission and abolish the entire pay panel system.

Let us tell you that the Modi government implemented the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission in January 2016. After 10 years, the tenure of this panel will be completed on December 31, 2025. Before the seventh pay commission, the tenure of the sixth, fifth and fourth pay commissions was also 10-10 years. This is the reason why employees and their organizations are demanding the formation of the eighth pay commission along with demonstrating. However, the government says that the duration of the pay panel is not fixed. Now, the news of the formation of a new system has raised concerns among government employees.

However, the government has said that the duration of the pay panel is not fixed, as is widely believed. Now, the news of the discovery of a new system is likely to raise concerns among government employees.

According to a source who was involved in the meetings between the government and employee organizations, ‘The government can create a new way to change the salary of central employees and pensioners instead of forming a new pay commission.’

Earlier reports also revealed that the central government may introduce a new system in place of the pay commission. Earlier, pay commissions have been formed at an interval of about 10 years to change the salary and pension of government employees.

Center’s stand on the formation of the 8th Pay Commission

Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary had made it clear in Parliament that at present the government is not considering the formation of the Eighth Pay Commission.

What next for central government employees?

After the government informed that there is no immediate plan for the next pay commission, the All India State Government Employees Federation (ASIFE) had announced last month that it will hold nationwide protests in the new year if its demands are not met.

Urges for immediate formation of 8th Pay Commission

After the Finance Ministry informed last month that it is not considering any proposal to constitute the 8th Pay Commission, the National Council (Staff Side) Joint Consultative Machinery (NC JCM) wrote to the Union Cabinet Secretary urging the “urgent” formation of a new pay commission.

In a letter dated December 3, the staff side of the NC JCM said it has been nine years since the 7th CPC recommendations were implemented and said the next pay and pension revision is due from January 1, 2026.
