What is the fitment factor?
The fitment factor is the multiplier that is applied to the existing basic pay. So that the new salary can be calculated. In the 7th Pay Commission, it was 2.57, due to which the salary of Level 1 employees was increased from Rs 7,000 to Rs 18,000. However, now the total salary including allowances is around Rs 36,020, when the minimum basic salary is Rs 18,000 per month.
Salary will be increased on the basis of fitment factor
The salary of the employees is decided on the basis of fitment factor. Under the 8th Pay Commission, the fitment factor is being discussed for salary hike. The National Council of Joint Consultative Machinery (NC-JCM) and the employees’ association have recommended a fitment factor of at least 2.86.
How much will the salary of central employees increase
If the fitment factor is fixed at 2.08, then the minimum basic salary of central employees can increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 37,440. At the same time, the pension can increase from Rs 9,000 to Rs 18,720. But if the fitment factor goes up to 2.86, then the salary can increase by 186%. If this happens, the minimum salary will increase to Rs 51,480 and the pension will increase to Rs 25,740.
What will be the fitment factor in the 8th Pay Commission
According to reports, the fitment factor in the 8th Pay Commission can be 2.86, which will lead to a big increase in the salary. How much will the salary increase under this.
The current salary of peon and attendant in level 1 is Rs 18,000. This will increase to Rs 51,480. That is, their salary will increase by Rs 33,480.
The basic salary of Lower Division Clerk in Level 2 is currently Rs 19,900, which can be increased to Rs 56,914. This will increase the total salary to Rs 37,014.
The salary of constables and skilled employees in level 3 is currently Rs 21,700, which can increase to Rs 62,062. There will be an increase of Rs 40,362 in this.
The current salary of Grade D stenographer and junior clerk in level 4 is Rs 25,500. This salary will increase to Rs 72,930. There will be an increase of about Rs 47,430 in this salary.
The salary of senior clerks and technical staff in level 5 is currently Rs 29,200, which can be increased to Rs 83,512, which will increase the total salary by Rs 54,312.
