8th Pay Commission: The 8th Pay Commission which was eagerly awaited by the Central Government employees and pensioners has finally been approved by the government. This decision was approved in the meeting of the Union Cabinet held today at the residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This step of the government will benefit around 49.18 lakh employees as well as 64.89 pensioners. At the same time, some state governments like the Delhi government also accept the recommendations of the Central Government’s Pay Commission, in such a situation, the pension of the state government pensioners will also increase.

Now the committee will be ready soon

Let us tell you that the formation of the 8th Pay Commission has been demanded from the government many times by the organizations of central employees. When Finance Secretary TV Somanathan was asked about this during the budget last year, he had said that at present we have a lot of time for this work. Now since the cabinet has approved the 8th Pay Commission, a committee will soon be formed for it.

Salary and pension can increase by this much

The fitment factor in the 8th Pay Commission is expected to be kept at 1.92. With this, the minimum salary of government employees is expected to increase from Rs 18 thousand to Rs 34,560. At the same time, the minimum pension for pensioners can also increase to Rs 17,280. This may also include adjustment in DA and DR for pensioners. However, some reports are saying that the fitment factor will be at 2.86.

The 8th Pay Commission is expected to be implemented from January 1, 2026. Earlier, the 7th Pay Commission was implemented by the Narendra Modi-led government in January 2016. A new pay commission is implemented every 10 years.
