Regarding this, recently Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman gave an important update about the formation of the new pay commission.

Responding to a question from MPs Kangana Ranaut and Sajda Ahmed, she said, “Inputs have been sought on the Terms of Reference (ToR) from key stakeholders including the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Personnel and Training and the states. The impact of the 8th Pay Commission can be assessed only when recommendations are made by the 8th CPC and accepted by the government.”
