8th Pay Commission: As a great news for more than 1 crore government employees and pensioners of the country, the central government has approved the formation of the 8th Pay Commission. In the Union Cabinet meeting held on January 16 under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has given the green signal to the formation of the 8th Pay Commission. The time of the 7th Pay Commission is till December 2026 as its recommendations were implemented from the year 2016 and the time of each Pay Commission is 10 years.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told in a press briefing on January 16 that the central government is going to start the process for the formation of the 8th Pay Commission committee soon. Now after the announcement of the new pay commission, the process of formation of the 8th Pay Commission will be started as soon as possible so that the basic pay, allowances, pension and other benefits of the central government employees can be revised.

Who will be included in the 8th Pay Commission

The central government is soon going to appoint the chairman and 2 members of the 8th Pay Commission panel and the committee formed by it will give its suggestions regarding the changes in the pay scale of central employees, after which a decision will be taken on the pay matrix.

When will the recommendations of the 8th Pay Commission be received

As soon as the committee of the 8th Pay Commission is formed, this panel will start its work and they will have about 11 months to submit the recommendations to the government.

What is the work of the Pay Commission?

The Pay Commission is formed to determine the salary of the central government employees and the pension of the former employees. The recommendations are prepared by the Pay Commission after considering many other factors including inflation, earnings. The Pay Commission also prepares the formula for determining Dearness Allowance (DA) for employees and other allowances including Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners.
