However, if you want to make any changes in your Aadhaar online, then it is necessary for the mobile number to be registered and updated on Aadhaar. Because OTP is sent to the registered mobile number for updation in Aadhaar through online mode only. Any change can be done only after entering that OTP. But if you have not registered or updated your mobile number on your Aadhar card, you may face problems and problems in changing online.
Mobile number will be updated online like this
- To update the mobile number in Aadhaar Card online, first go to its website uidai.gov.in.
- There you will get the option to update the phone number, enter the number you want to update.
- After that enter the security code i.e. captcha. Click on the option of OTP, after which an
- OTP will be sent to your registered number.
- Then submit and process the OTP. After this you will see a menu, which notes Online Aadhaar Services.
- Here you will also be shown many other options including name, address, email, mobile number. Choose the option of mobile number from these and fill all the details asked.
- After that enter the captcha and click on continue button. Then an OTP will come on your mobile number, verify it and click on the button of Save and Proceed.
Offline mode
- To update mobile number in Aadhaar Card, you can visit your nearest Enrollment or Update Center.
- Where you have to fill the correction form in Aadhar card. After this, fill the mobile number you want to update in the form and submit the form.
- You will have to get biometrics done for verification. After this, the executive will give you a receipt, in which a request number (URN) will be written. You can check the status of update in Aadhaar by using a Request Number (URN).
Process to register mobile number in Aadhar
- First of all you have to go to Aadhar Enrollment/Update Center.
- After this, the Aadhar card correction form has to be filled.
- Enter the mobile number you need to update on this form. Then submit the form.
- Then you will have to provide your biometrics for authentication.
- After this, a receipt will be given to you by the executive.
- In this receipt you will get a request number (URN).
- You can check your updation status using -URN.
- Explain that after updating the mobile number in Aadhaar, you do not even need to take a new Aadhaar card.
- When your mobile number is registered with Aadhar, you will start receiving OTP of Aadhar.
