10 year old Aadhaar will have to be updated – this is the rule

Aadhar card is used as a major ID across the country. Aadhar card is used in 1,100 schemes run by the central government. Out of these, 319 schemes are being run by the Central Government. Additionally, many financial institutions such as banks and NBFCs use Aadhaar to authenticate and onboard customers. If there has been a change in your document, then get it changed.

Update on myAadhaar portal

UIDAI said in the statement that Aadhaar card holders can revise their information online by visiting myAadhaar portal. You will have to upload your ID certificate and copy of the document related to address proof. At the same time, if you are not able to update the information online, then you can also do it by visiting the offline Aadhaar center. Here you have to submit self attested copy.

You can update for free till December 14, 2023

If you want to get some update done in Aadhar card, you can do it for free till 14th December. After this, updating will cost money. Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has provided the service of uploading Aadhaar details and documents. You have 2 days left to update the information for free. You can upload your documents in Aadhaar today through online and offline means.

You can update Aadhar card online for free

1- First of all you have to visit the official website https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.

2 – Select the Proceed option to update the address.

3 – OTP will come on the registered mobile number.

4 – Have to click on ‘Document Update’. The current details of the resident will be visible.

5 – Aadhaar users will have to verify their details. If found correct, click on the next hyperlink.

6 – In the next step, proof of identity and address proof documents have to be selected from the dropdown list.

7 – Scanned copy of address proof has to be uploaded. You have to click on the ‘Submit’ button. To update your documents, you will have to upload a copy of it.

8 – Finally the Aadhaar update request will be accepted and a 14 digit Update Request Number (URN) will be generated.
