What is virtual id
Virtual ID is a 16 digit number that can be created and changed by the Aadhaar holder. Currently, the Virtual ID is valid for only one day. That is, the virtual ID of the Aadhaar holder will be valid for one day’s use only and will have to be generated again the next day. The old ID remains valid until you create a new one. Only one Virtual ID can be active at a time.
This is how you can create Aadhaar virtual id
- To generate Virtual ID, users first need to visit the official website of UIDAI https://www.uidai.gov.in. Go to
- After login, users will have to go to Aadhaar service and click on Virtual ID.
- Now a page will open in which you will have to enter 16 digit Aadhaar number. After this, OTP will have to be generated by entering the security code.
- OTP number will come on your registered mobile number. Fill it and click on Generate VID. The message that your virtual IG has been generated will come.
