Aadhaar Card Updation New Rules: UIDAI issues new guidelines from enrollment to updation, Aadhaar holders alert!

Aadhaar Card Updation New Rules: According to the new rules, Aadhaar card holder can now update information through online or offline mode. Information update in the Central Identities Data Repository (CIDR) can be done either by visiting the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra or through the mobile application and UIDAI website.



Aadhaar Card Updation New Rules : Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has issued new guidelines for Aadhaar card updation. UIDAI issued a notification to amend the Aadhaar (Enrolment and Updation) Rules. UIDAI has issued new forms for Indian citizens and non-resident individuals (NRIs) for Aadhaar enrollment or updation purposes.

Aadhaar Card: Update Information

According to the new rules, Aadhaar card holder can now update information through online or offline mode. Information update in the Central Identities Data Repository (CIDR) can be done either by visiting the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra or through the mobile application and UIDAI website.

The old 2016 rules provided for updation of address in online mode only. For other details updation, the Aadhaar number holder was required to visit the enrollment centre.

Experts say that since there is no mention of any restriction in the new rules, the Aadhaar card holder will be able to update the mobile number online also.

Aadhaar Card: New Form for Enrollment The
existing form for enrollment for Aadhaar and updating Aadhaar details has been replaced with a new form.

Form 1

Form 1 will be used by resident individuals aged 18 years and above and non-resident individuals (possessing proof of address in India) for Aadhaar enrolment.

Form 1 can also be used to update other details if the person already has an Aadhaar card.

Form 2

For NRIs who have proof of address outside India, Form 2 will be used for enrollment and updation.

Form 3

Form 3 is to be used for enrollment of children aged 5 years and above but below 18 years of age (resident or NRI with Indian address).

Form 4

Form 4 is to be used for NRI children with addresses outside India.

Form 5

Form 5 is to be used by resident or NRI children (having Indian address) below 5 years of age for enrollment or updation in Aadhaar.

Form 6

Form 6 is to be used by NRI children (whose address is outside India) below 5 years of age.

Form 7

Form 7 is to be used by a resident foreign national above 18 years of age who wishes to enroll for or update Aadhaar details. Details of foreign passport, OCI card, valid long term visa, Indian visa will be required for enrollment in this category. Here also email ID will be mandatory.

Form 8

Form 8 should be used by a resident foreign national under the age of 18 years.

Form 9

UIDAI has notified that Form 9 can be used to cancel the Aadhaar number on attaining the age of 18 years.
