New Delhi: On Monday 20 December, Law Minister Kiren Rijiju introduced the Electoral Reforms Bill 2021 in the Lok Sabha. It is considered an important step in the direction of electoral reforms. These changes were approved by the Union Cabinet on Wednesday last week.

Process from National Voter Service Portal
Firstof all go to https://voterportal.eci.gov.in/ . Login with Mobile Number, Email ID, Voter ID Number and Create Password. Enter name, date of birth and father’s name in it. After that click on the search button. Check whether the details entered are correctly matched with the government’s database. Tap on ‘Feed Aadhaar Number’ option on the left side of the screen. In this a pop-up page will appear for filling the name present on Aadhaar Number, Voter ID Number, Registered Mobile Number and/or Registered Email Address. Submit after checking the details. The message will be displayed on successful registration of the application.
Link via SMS and Call Center
Open your phone text message and send an SMS to 166 or 51969. You can also call the call center to link Aadhaar with your voter ID. Dial 1950 from 10 AM to 5 PM on working days. Share your Voter ID card number and Aadhar number. This process of linking Voter ID and Aadhaar can be completed by contacting the booth level officers also.
