7th Pay Commission: The government came to know that the employees were not marking their attendance in the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS). Not only this, some employees were coming late to the office every day. This step was taken by the government after getting information about this.

Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System: If you are also a central government employee, then this news is for you. Yes, before the announcement of dearness allowance for lakhs of central employees, a big update has come. After the increase in March, the DA of central employees has increased to 50 percent. Now the decision on DA will be taken by the government after the presentation of the general budget. But before this, a big update has come for the central employees. The government has warned the employees of strict action if they reach office late. It has also been said that strict action will be taken against those employees who repeatedly come to office late or leave early.

Live location detection and geo-tagging facility

The government came to know that the employees were not marking their attendance in the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS). Not only this, some employees were coming to the office late every day. This step was taken by the government after getting information about this. In this order, the Personnel Ministry suggested using mobile phone based face authentication system, apart from recording attendance, it also provides facilities like ‘live location detection and geo-tagging’. According to the order, strict implementation of AEBAS was recently reviewed.

Strict action should be taken against the employees

It was said in the order that the habit of repeatedly coming late to the office and leaving early should be taken seriously and should be stopped. Strict action should be taken against the employee doing this. Along with this, all the government departments were asked to ensure that the employees register their attendance only by using the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) without any mistake.

Employees who come late will be identified

The order also stated that by doing so there will be no difference between the employees ‘recorded’ on AEBAS and the employees ‘actually working’. Also, all Heads of Departments (HODs) were directed to make their employees aware about the rules related to office timings, late coming etc. The order also stated that the department heads will regularly download their attendance report from the government website www.attendance.gov.in and identify such employees who repeatedly come late to the office or leave early.

According to the government rule, if the attendance is late for one day, half a day of casual leave will be deducted. If the late attendance is not more than twice in a month and with proper reasons, then a maximum of one hour of lateness can be forgiven. This decision can be taken by any senior officer of the office. Apart from deducting CL, disciplinary action can also be taken against those government employees who repeatedly come late to the office. This will be done because according to the rule, coming late repeatedly comes under misconduct rules.
