After all, why is the Sig 716 called ‘Shoot to Kill’ gun, which the army ordered

The Indian Army has begun to strengthen its preparations between China and China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh. Under this, the Indian Army has decided to buy 72 thousand American assault rifles. For this, orders have also been given by the army. All these sophisticated weapons will be purchased from America.

Please tell that after the completion of the order of the first batch, an order has been given by the Army for the second batch of this gun. Earlier, the Army has received 72 thousand American assault rifles which are being used in Northern Command and Operational Area.

The most special thing about this rifle is that its range is up to 500 meters (half a kilometer). It has a bore of 7.62mm. Also, its bullet is bigger than other guns, which is more deadly. The aim of this gun is very accurate and the ability to stack the enemy in a single shot. This is the reason why it is considered a shoot to kill rifle.

Army source said that under the budget that the army has got for its weapons, we are being ordered 72 thousand more American assault rifles, which will increase the strength of our military forces.

Let me tell you that 72 thousand Sig 716 assault rifles which have been received by the Indian Army before, are being used in counter-insurgency operations. This has strengthened the fight of security forces against terrorism. Earlier, India had signed a Rs 700 crore deal to purchase 72,000 rifles from the US under fast track procedures.

These new rifles will replace the INSAS being used in the military. INSAS was prepared by the Ordnance Factory, a weapon maker for the military in India.

According to the plan, about one and a half lakh Sig 716 assault rifles will be purchased from the US, which will be used against the terrorists and deployed on the Line of Control (Pakistan border). This weapon will help in fighting terrorists. While the rest of the army will use the AK 203 rifle which is manufactured in Amethi Ordnance Factory under the joint military undertaking of India and Russia.

The Indian Army wanted to change its INSAS rifles for the past several years, but for some reason or the other it was stuck. Recently, due to shortage of Light Machine Gun (LMG), the Ministry of Defense had ordered 16 thousand light machine guns to the Israeli company.

Let me tell you that since the month of May, there has been tension between India and the Chinese Army on the Line of Actual Control. China has still deployed heavy military forces in its area, in response to which India has also increased the number of troops there.
