After the release of Dearness Allowance of Central employees, now the Ministry of Home Affairs has announced to increase the Dearness Relief hike for non-government pensioners. The DR of these pensioners was still running at 15 percent. The increase in dearness relief was put on hold due to the Covid Mahamari.
According to the order of Director Meenu Batra in the Government of India, the DR of Central Freedom Fighter Pensioners, their dependents or their daughters is being increased from 15 percent to 26 percent. This dearness relief will be applicable for every category of pensioner. With this increase, the monthly pension of each pensioner has increased by about Rs 7000. This hike is effective from 1 July 2021.
Category of pensioners
There has been an increase in the pension of Ex-Andaman Political prisoners/spouses, Freedom fighters who suffered outside British India/spouses and other Freedom fighters/spouses including INA category pensioners. Their pension has increased from 30 thousand to Rs 37800 per month, from 28000 to Rs 35280 per month and from 26000 to Rs 32760 per month respectively.
Dependents pension
The pension of dependents of pensioners, which was Rs 15000 per month from Rs 13 thousand per month, has now increased from Rs 16380 per month to Rs 18900 per month. It has also been said in the order that TDS is not charged in Central Samman Pension.
DA increased in July
Let us inform that in July, the Union Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi removed the ban on Dearness Allowance of central employees. Due to this, the DA of central employees increased by 11 percent to 28 percent. This has directly benefited 48 lakh 34 thousand central employees and 65 lakh 26 thousand pensioners.
When did the DA increase
DA of central employees was increased by 4% in January 2020. Then there was a 3% increase in the second half and another 4% increase in January 2021. With this his DA has reached a total of 28%.
