AIIMS-SBI Smart Card: Delhi’s AIIMS Hospital in collaboration with State Bank of India (SBI) has launched a smart card for patients. This card was released on Monday by Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya along with AIIMS Director Dr. M. Srinivas and SBI MD Manjit Singh. Through this smart card, patients will be able to make payments from canteen to OPD and for lab tests.
How will smart card work?
- While registering a patient in AIIMS, a unique UHID number is created for him. The patient will have to show this UHID smart card at the counter. These counters have been made in Mother and Child OPD and AIIMS Staff Canteen.
- An OTP will come on the patient’s mobile number. After this the card will be given to him. The patient will not have to pay any money for this card. The patient can recharge the card at different counters present in AIIMS.
- After completion of work in AIIMS, if the patient wishes, he can withdraw the balance amount in his account or in cash.
Service started from 12th February
This facility has been launched for patients from 12th February. There is no service charge on the card. Earlier on 12 December 2023, this card was started for AIIMS staff. This card will soon be launched in the rest of the AIIMS of the country.
