Mauritius is the 12th country for which Air Vistara is starting flights from Mumbai airport. Not only this, from next month Air Vistara flights can also travel to Colombo and Daman. The airline company has already announced about this.
Flight will run five days a week
The flight from Mumbai airport to Mauritius will run five days a week. It will have three classes – Business, Premium Economy and Economy Class. All flights will be filled with A321 flights. Air Vistara has recently added it to its fold. Vistara Chief Executive Officer Vinod Kannan said, “Vistara has added Mauritius while expanding its global network.
Apart from being a popular tourist destination, Mauritius is also an important business hub and there are many big financial institutions. Air traffic between the two countries will also increase with this new route. This is an effective effort to connect the two countries.
Air India to be merged
Vistara, run by Singapore Airlines, is about to merge with Air India. On 29 November 2022, Singapore Airlines and Tata Sons gave their consent for the merger of the airlines. According to the PTI report, by the year 2024, both the airlines want to complete the merger. Regulatory approval is yet to be received for this.
Tata Group had acquired Air India in January last year. Let us tell you that Air India and Vistara have 218 wide body and narrow body aircraft. They provide their services to 38 international and 52 domestic destinations.
It is noteworthy that recently DGCA had imposed a fine of Rs 70 lakh on Air Vistara. The airline company operated less than the minimum number of flights in the North East region. The airline company has to inform the DGCA about the minimum number of flights in each sector. DGCA has strict rules regarding the minimum number of flights. The company had told that it has already paid the fine.
