Minister of State for Civil Aviation General Dr. VK Singh has said that on the recommendation of the airline’s internal committee, only three passengers have been put on the no-fly list in the year 2023, while last year a total of 63 passengers were put on the list. These include two incidents of urination that came to the notice of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in the last 1 year.

What is no fly list

Such people have been kept in the no fly list, who have been banned from traveling in Indian airlines. It has been formed to deal with unruly passengers or to deal with other issues. People coming in this list cannot travel by Indian Airlines. The Ministry of Civil Aviation introduced the No Fly List in the year 2017 to respond to the increasing incidents of misbehavior in flights. According to the data available by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, a total of 143 people have been placed on the no-fly list since 2017.

Important initiative of the government

It is noteworthy that a no-fly list is prepared by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, which includes specific information related to the passenger involved, contact details of identity documents, date of incident, sector, flight number, period of ban, etc. Although the no fly list is an important initiative of the government to identify the passengers and temporarily stop them from air travel.
