What passengers need to do
FTI-TTP is implemented through an online portal (click here). To enrol in the programme, applicants need to complete the online registration by filling in their details and uploading the required documents on the portal. Biometric data of registered applicants will be captured either at the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) or while passing through the airport.
Registered passengers will have to scan their airline-issued boarding pass at the e-gate, followed by a scan of their passport. At both the arrival and departure points, the passenger’s biometrics will be authenticated at the e-gate. Once this authentication is successful, the e-gate will open automatically and immigration clearance will be deemed to have been granted.
Understand immigration at the airport
Immigration at the airport is the process of checking the passports and visas of people entering a country. This is also known as passport control or border control. When you arrive in a country that is different from your departure country, you will have to go through immigration. The immigration officer will stamp your passport with the date you left your country.
