Traveling by air from smaller airports could soon get expensive. The Union Civil and Aviation Ministry may increase the landing fees and parking fees at these airports.
Passengers traveling by air may soon get a shock. Traveling through smaller airports can now be more loose. In fact, there is a proposal to increase the landing fees and parking fees at these airports by 30 percent. Not only this, the user development fee can also increase up to four times. The Ministry of Civil Aviation has issued a concept note. In this, suggestions have been sought from all the stakeholders till 28 February.
Three categories are proposed
Let us tell you that the new rates will be for all those airports, where less than 3.5 million or 35 lakh passengers come annually. The development fee is currently Rs 150, which can be increased to Rs 500. All these rates will also be applicable for airports covered under the UDAN scheme of the Government of India. Three categories of airports are proposed in the concept note. There are 13 airports in the first cluster. These airports handle more than one million passengers annually. The second cluster has 32 airports, which handle between one lakh and one million passengers annually. At the same time, there are 32 airports in the third cluster, which receive less than one lakh passengers.

From February 1, 2023, Indian Oil Corporation has increased the price of air traffic fuel by Rs. Its effect can be seen in the form of relief in the inflation of air travel in the coming times. The price of jet fuel in Delhi has been increased to Rs 1,12,356.77 lakh per kilo litre.
Prices have gone up to Rs 1,19,239.96 lakh per kiloliter in Kolkata, Rs 1,11,246.61 lakh per kiloliter in Mumbai and Rs 1,16,922.56 lakh per kiloliter in Chennai.
