Airports Privatisation New Update: According to sources, the government wants to lease these airports. The government believes that leasing these airports to private companies will improve their management. This will enable the use of the efficiency of the private sector.

Airports Privatisation: The government may soon privatize 11 airports. According to information received from sources, the Aviation Ministry is preparing a proposal on this subject. According to sources, Amritsar, Varanasi, Bhubaneswar, Indore, Raipur, Trichy, Kushinagar, Gaya, Hubli, Aurangabad and Tirupati airports can be privatized. The government will bid by combining profitable-non-profitable airports. These airports will be given to private companies under the PPP model. The Aviation Ministry is preparing a proposal for their privatization. This proposal is possible under the National Monetization Pipeline (NMP) 2.0.

Let us tell you that under the National Monetization Pipeline (NMP) of the Central Government, 25 airports were identified for leasing between 2022-2025. These include Bhubaneswar, Varanasi, Amritsar, Trichy, Indore, Raipur, Calicut, Coimbatore, Nagpur, Patna, Madurai, Surat, Ranchi, Jodhpur, Chennai, Vijayawada, Vadodara, Bhopal, Tirupati, Hubli, Imphal, Agartala, Udaipur, Dehradun and Rajahmundry.

According to sources, the government wants to lease these airports. The government believes that leasing these airports to private companies will improve their management. This will enable the use of the efficiency of the private sector. The government also believes that ultimately the passengers will benefit from the increase in airport infrastructure and facilities. Under the PPP model, the private sector operates, manages and develops the airport.

Due to the news, Adani Airports and GMR Airports may benefit. If we look at the shares of GMR Airports, currently this stock is seen around Rs 69.55 on NSE with a weakness of Rs 0.88 i.e. 1.25 percent. Today its day’s high is Rs 71.90 and day’s low is Rs 68.67. The trading volume of the stock is around 7,151,871 shares. At the same time, its market cap is Rs 73,416 crore.

Weakness is also being seen on the shares of Adani Ports in today’s session. Currently this stock is trading around Rs 1076 on NSE with a decline of Rs 6.50 i.e. 0.60 percent. Today its day’s high is Rs 1,085. The trading volume of the stock is 1,025,748 shares.
