Private sector airline Akasa Air is now about to start international flights. According to the information given by the company, international operations will start on March 28 with the first flight connecting Mumbai to Doha. Please note that this is a 19 month old airline. This airline started domestic flight services from August 2022.

What the company said: “Starting March 28, 2024, Akasa Air will operate four non-stop flights a week connecting Mumbai with Doha, increasing air connectivity between Qatar and India,” the airline said in a statement. Vinay Dubey, Founder and CEO of Akasa Air, said its entry into Qatar marks the next phase of growth for the airline. The airline currently operates 23 Boeing 737 Max aircraft. Let us inform you that in October 2023, Akasa Air had received approval from the government for flights to Riyadh, Jeddah, Doha and Kuwait.

Booking for international flights can now be done through Akasa Air’s website www.akasaair.com, Android and iOS apps as well as several leading OTAs. The company will charge a total of Rs 29012 for the round trip.

SpiceJet’s Ajay Singh bids to go first

Meanwhile, SpiceJet chief Ajay Singh, along with Busy Bee Airways, has bid for Go First, which is going through the insolvency process. SpiceJet said Singh, in his personal capacity with Busy Bee Airways Pvt Ltd, has submitted the bid for GoFirst. However, specific details about Busy Bee Airways could not be immediately ascertained. Let us tell you that Go First, which was going through a serious financial crisis, had stopped flights in May last year and is currently going through the insolvency resolution process.
