New Delhi. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued an important alert to the people on Wednesday regarding the purchase and sale of old coins and notes. It warned that some fraudulent elements are using the name and logo of the central bank for sale of old banknotes and coins on online, offline platforms. Actually, for the last few days, many news are coming out regarding the purchase and sale of old coins and notes, due to which RBI has issued this alert.

RBI warned people by tweeting
Reserve Bank issued a tweet saying, it has come to the notice of Reserve Bank of India that some elements are wrongly using the name and people of Reserve Bank of India and various online, Asking people for fees/commissions or taxes for selling old banknotes and coins through offline platforms.

The Reserve Bank has clarified in its statement that it is not involved in any such activity and will never ask for any fee or commission from anyone for such transactions. At the same time, the bank has said that it has not given any kind of authorization to any institution or person for such activities.
RBI does not have any deal with anyone
Reserve Bank of India does not deal in such matters nor does it ever ask for such fee or commission from anyone. The Reserve Bank of India has not given any authority to any institution, company or person etc. to charge any fee or commission on behalf of the Reserve Bank on such transactions. The Reserve Bank of India advises the general public not to fall prey to such fraudulent and fraudulent offers.”
