A modified Android version of WhatsApp has got a dangerous virus, never download it

If you are a user of WhatsApp then this news is very important for you. In this a new scam has come to light.

If you have made this mistake unintentionally, then understand that all your data can be in someone else’s hands.

According to a report, a modified Android version of WhatsApp has been found. On downloading it, it takes control of the users’ mobile. Cyber security major Kaspersky has reported about this dangerous version.

Researchers believe that the modified version of WhatsApp is FMWhatsApp 16.80.0. It is affected by the Trojan Triada. Such apps serve to offer users additional features that are not found in the original WhatsApp.

According to Kaspersky, the new version of FMWhatsApp has Trojan Triada. It also comes with the Advertising Software Development Kit (SDK). In such a situation, on launching this app that is affected by Trojan, it acquires the device’s unique device identifiers such as device ID, subscriber ID, MAC address.

Then it sends all the details to the remote server. When the information reaches the server, it registers the device. It then downloads the Trojan payload to the infected device. After this, it decrypts the content and launches it for operation. This report states that this FMWhatsApp acquires permission to read the SMS of the device. After this, it becomes very easy to clean the bank account by subscribing to the paid subscription.
