Jammu, State Bureau. There has been confusion regarding the conduct of Baba Amarnath Yatra. The date for starting the journey was set as 23 June. This decision was made by Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board. Advance registration was to begin from April 1, but due to the situation arising out of Corona, the lockdown was postponed. Seeing the circumstances of Corona, the board had to decide, but the board has not met yet. The board itself has to decide on organizing the yatra.

According to sources, this time the Amarnath Yatra can be started from July 21. However, no decision has been taken officially in this regard. Sources said the Lt. Governor had called a board meeting on June 19, but it was postponed. No date has been set for the meeting. The board may meet in the next ten days.

Sources reveal that the Jammu and Kashmir administration will also consult the Union Home Ministry regarding the duration and duration of the yatra. Baba Bafarni Langar Organization has suggested not to organize the yatra this year. This time the first puja for the yatra was performed in Jammu itself. It is also being demanded that darshan of the holy Shivalinga be done through channels.
