Akhil Saxena, Head of Operations, APAC, MENA LATAM and WW Customer Service, Amazon, said, “We are committed to strengthening our fulfillment, delivery and customer service capabilities and ensuring a great shopping experience for the millions of customers who want to shop with us. Welcoming a workforce of more than one lakh.”

Amazon India has already integrated most of these new employees into its existing network, with early access to Prime customers from October 7 ahead of the “Amazon Great Indian Festival” starting from October 8, where they Will pack, ship and deliver customer orders.

Want to strengthen the footprint

The company said the new appointments also include customer service associates, some of whom are part of the virtual customer service model, which aims to provide a better customer experience while strengthening its footprint across the country.

Amazon India has fulfillment centers spread across 15 states, providing 43 million cubic feet of storage space for seller inventory. More than 13 lakh sellers of the country benefit from this. The company has sorting centers in 19 states, as well as a network of nearly 2,000 Amazon-operated and partner delivery stations.
