The Nobel Prize, considered one of the highest awards in the world, is set to be announced today (Oct. 05). A total of 318 people are on the competition list for this year’s Nobel Prize, including 211 individuals and 107 organizations.
The names of this year’s Nobel laureates in medicine have been announced. The three nominees for the Nobel Prize are Harvey J. Alder, Michael Houghton and Charles M. Rice. All three have been honored for their discovery of the novel virus and the hepatitis C virus.

Following this, the Nobel Prize in Physics will be announced tomorrow (6th), the Nobel Prize in Chemistry on the 7th, the Nobel Peace Prize on the 9th and the Nobel Prize in Economics on the 10th.
Previously, the first Nobel Prize was awarded in 1901 under 5 categories. The Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences was added in 1969 with a donation from the Rix Bank. Since then, the Nobel Prize in Medicine, Physics, Chemistry, Literature, Economics and Peace has been awarded each year.
