New Delhi. American tech giant Apple Self is working on driving car technology. The company’s target is to produce passenger vehicles by 2024. This car may include Apple’s own successful battery technology. Apple, which made the iPhone, started its automotive efforts in 2014, which is known as Project Titan. At one time Apple stopped its project due to software focus, but it re-set the target. Doug Field, an Apple veteran who has also served at Tesla, began overseeing the project in 2018 and fired 190 people from the team in 2019.
Apple progressed
The company has grown a lot since Field joined Apple and aims to create a car for consumers. Apple’s goal of making a personal vehicle for the market will be to compete with competitors like Alphabet’s Waymo. Waymo has designed a robo-taxi to transport passengers for uninterrupted ride-hailing. Apple’s strategy is to design a new battery that will reduce the cost of the battery and the car will run longer.
The challenge is hard
Creating a vehicle will also bring the challenge of supply chain to Apple. It manufactures millions of electronics products every year by sourcing parts from around the world, but has never produced a car. Elon Musk’s Tesla took 17 years to produce a consistently profitable car. It is not clear whether the Apple-branded car will be assembled, but according to a Gadgets Now report, sources are speculating that the company will rely on a manufacturing partner to manufacture the vehicle.
How long can the car come
Although there is a possibility that Apple’s self-driving car may be revealed by 2024, but there is also an estimate that due to the delay caused by the Corona, these cars came in 2025 or later. Apple has decided to join hands with external partners for system elements. These elements also include LIDAR sensors, which help self-driving cars get a three-Dimensional View of the road. Technology will be awesome
Apple’s car may have multiple LIDAR sensors to scan different distances. Lidar sensor feature is present in both Apple’s iPhone 12 Pro and iPad Pro models this year. Apple had held talks with potential LIDAR suppliers, but is also investigating to produce its own sensors.
