On March 24, the cabinet approved the increased dearness allowance (DA Hike). After this, his dearness allowance has increased to 42 per cent. From January 1, 2023, employees will get its benefit.
But, there will be salary credit in April. In this situation, they will get DA Arrears for 3 months (January, February, March). In such a situation, to see what will come in the salary of central employees, their salary slip will have to be seen. After the Centre, many state governments have also increased the DA of their employees.
Which employees will get the benefit?
After its implementation from January 2023, about 47.58 lakh central government employees and more than 69 lakh pensioners will get its benefit. This increase has been approved by the government under the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission. This will increase the financial burden of Rs 12,815 crore annually on the government.
How much DA arrears will be received?
Basic salary starts from Rs 18,000 on GP 1800 in level-1 of central employee. Those in this band will get Rs 9477 including DA+TA. Till now he was getting Rs.8703. This means that compared to the previous dearness allowance, a total of Rs 774 more will come in his salary. Arrears of 3 months will also be given. Means 774+774+744= 2322 rupees will be available for January, February and March. Apart from this, 774 rupees of April will also be added. Altogether 18000+2322+774= Rs 21,096 will be available as Basic+DA. After this, you will get full salary along with other allowances.

In Level-1, the basic salary is Rs.18,000 at GP 1800 and the employee’s HRA is of ‘X’ city and TA is getting at the rate of Rs.1350, then the salary breakup will be something like this.

State governments increased dearness allowance
After the central government, the state governments have also approved the increase in dearness allowance. These include states like Assam, Rajasthan and Jharkhand and Goa. DA has been increased by 4 percent in all these states. Apart from this, the government of Goa approved the increase of dearness allowance and dearness relief. Now the government employees of Goa will also be paid dearness allowance at the rate of 42 per cent. This increase has also been implemented from January 2023.
