Read on which conditions Delhi CM got bail

  • Kejriwal will be released from jail after 152 days.
  • Both judges granted bail of Rs 10 lakh each.
  • Decision by unanimous decision of both judges.
  • Kejriwal was in CBI custody for 80 days.

Kejriwal has got bail in the ED case

If Kejriwal gets bail in the CBI case, he will come out of jail because he has already got interim bail from the Supreme Court in the ED money laundering case. The CBI arrested him on June 26. At that time he was in jail in the money laundering case.

Kejriwal has challenged the Delhi High Court’s order in the Supreme Court. The High Court had rejected his petition challenging the CBI arrest and asked him to go to the lower court for bail. Kejriwal has challenged both the orders in the Supreme Court. He has termed the CBI arrest as illegal and has demanded his release and bail.

Abhishek Manu Singhvi raised serious questions on the arrest

Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, on behalf of Kejriwal (Kejriwal News), had questioned the arrest and argued that it is illegal to arrest someone directly without sending a notice for interrogation under Section 41A of the CrPC. Singhvi had also said that the Supreme Court has said in several of its decisions that bail is the rule and jail is the exception. Kejriwal holds a constitutional post, there is no possibility of him running away if he gets bail.
