The bank has decided to increase the maximum limit for ATM cash withdrawal, point of sale and for e-commerce sale.
Know what changes the bank made
The bank has increased the maximum withdrawal limit for Classic Debit Card from Rs 40,000 to Rs 75,000. Now the POS limit for these cards has been increased from 1 lakh to 2 lakh per day. At the same time, there has been no increase in the maximum limit for NFC. At the same time, the limit of contactless transaction is fixed at Rs 5,000 for 5 occasions per day.
Now there will be a big change in security
According to the website of Canara Bank, as per the guidelines of RBI, security has been increased on card transactions. The default card issued can be used only for domestic use at ATMs and POS. International/Online (e-commerce) use and Contactless use are not allowed at the time of card issue. Customers are given the facility to activate/deactivate the card channel-wise (ATM/POS/e-commerce, domestic/international, NFC contactless) and set limits through ATM/Branch/Mobile Banking/Internet Banking/IVRS.
PNB debit card transaction
Punjab National Bank has recommended a change in the debit card transaction limit. According to the PNB website, the bank is going to increase the limit for all Platinum MasterCard, RuPay and Visa Gold debit cards as well as RuPay Select and Visa Signature debit cards.
