Axis Bank has sent a mail to its customers to avoid cyber fraud. In this mail, the bank has given information about what mistakes they should not make while using the account. Know what is written in that mail?

We see, hear or read news of cyber fraud every day. Whereas all banks repeatedly warn their customers not to share account related information with anyone else. And also advise to take some precautions while using internet banking services.

For example, install firewall and antivirus services on your personal computer (PC) for secure banking, do not forget to log-off from your account after using it, change your passwords from time to time, and never change your passwords. Do not write it down anywhere. But despite this, people are becoming victims of cyber fraud and money is being stolen from their bank accounts.

To protect its customers from such frauds, Axis Bank has advised them to take these 9 precautions.

  1. Keep in mind that Axis Bank employees never ask their customers for KYC details/ OTP / Debit Card PIN or CVV on call.
  2. Do not share your KYC details, PAN card details, date of birth with anyone on call.
  3. First check the authenticity of the mobile number from which the call has come, do not blindly trust your caller ID.
  4. Do not fall prey to any mobile number change request, remember that Axis Bank employees never ask you to update your mobile number.
  5. Ignore refund calls/emails before verifying authenticity.
  6. To know the call center number of the bank, always visit the official website of the company.
  7. Do not download third-party applications like Any desk/ Team viewer/ Quick support
  8. If someone has fraudulently withdrawn money from your bank account, inform your bank immediately.
  9. To report fraud and block your debit card/account, call Axis Bank customer care number 1860 419 5555/1860 500 5555 or send ‘Hi’ on WhatsApp to mobile number 70361655000.
