After the Ram temple was opened to the public, water is leaking from the roof of the sanctum sanctorum after the first rain. This information has been given by Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of the temple.

Ayodhya: Water started dripping from the roof of the grand Ram temple being built in Ayodhya in the first rain itself. Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of the temple, has expressed strong displeasure over this. Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, confirmed that water was dripping rapidly from the roof of the temple in the sanctum sanctorum in the first rain on Saturday midnight. In the morning, when the priest went there to worship the Lord, he saw that the floor was filled with water, which was removed from the temple premises after a lot of effort. No arrangement was made to remove water from the temple.

The chief priest raised the question

He told that rainwater started dripping rapidly from the roof right in front of the idol of Ramlala in the temple, at the place where the priest sits and the place where the people come for VIP darshan. The officials of the temple had to work hard to remove the rainwater. Das told reporters, “It is very surprising that such engineers from all over the country are coming here and building the Ram temple. The temple was consecrated on January 22 last year, but no one knew that the roof would leak if it rained.

Allegations of negligence in temple construction work

The chief priest said that it is surprising that the roof of a world-famous temple is leaking. Why did this happen? Such an incident is happening in the presence of such big engineers, which is very wrong. He alleged that negligence has been shown in the temple construction work. After the top officials were informed about the incident of water leaking from the roof, the chairman of the temple construction committee, Nripendra Mishra, reached the temple and gave instructions to repair the roofs and “water proof”.

Temple trust officials are not ready to say anything

However, when an attempt was made to contact the officials of the temple trust, no one was ready to respond to the leakage of rainwater from the roof of the temple. The Rampath Marg and the streets connected to it were waterlogged due to the rain on Saturday night. Apart from sewer water filling up the houses, Rampath Marg and newly constructed roads in Ayodhya Nagar have caved in at many places. The most crisis was seen in Ayodhya Nagar, where waterlogging situation persists from Jalwanpura to Hanumangarhi Bhaktipath and from Teedi Bazaar to the inner areas.

Mayor said this

Reacting to sewer water filling up the houses in the streets of Ram Path during the rain, Ayodhya Mayor Girish Pati Tripathi said, “I have started ‘damage control’ since morning, I have deployed several teams of the municipality to remove water from the waterlogged houses.” However, when an attempt was made to know their reaction to the condition of the roads from the top officials of the Public Works Department (PWD), no one came forward to talk or take responsibility.

Congress accused BJP of corruption

Meanwhile, the Congress has accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of corruption in this matter. Ajay Rai, president of the Uttar Pradesh unit of the Congress, said, “Be it the coffin of the martyrs or the temple of Lord Ram, all these have become opportunities for corruption for the BJP. Even the symbols of faith and purity in the country are mere opportunities for loot for them. It has become clear from the statement of priest Satyendra Das that water is leaking in the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram temple built at a cost of crores of rupees due to the first rain and there is no proper drainage system.

Ajay Rai targeted the BJP

Rai said, “Not only this, the mask of the BJP, which was beating the drum of development of Ayodhya, has come off just before the inauguration of the Ram temple, with the collapse of the road at many places in the Ram Path built at a cost of Rs 624 crore. It has become clear that the BJP has made Ayodhya a den of corruption by carrying out substandard construction in a hurry only to gain electoral benefits. The BJP has only done injustice to the people of Ayodhya by not giving proper compensation for their land.
