After applying in this government-run health scheme, Ayushman Card is made and after this, free treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh can be done through it. The government gives you this much cover every year and bears the entire expense. On Wednesday, a big change has been made in this government scheme and in the cabinet meeting, it was decided to include all the elderly above 70 years of age in ‘Ayushman Yojana’.
More than 34 crore Ayushman cards made
If we look at the government data, the number of Ayushman cards being made under the Ayushman Bharat scheme is increasing rapidly and by June 30, 2024, their figure had exceeded 34.7 crores. By this period, 7.37 crore sick people worth up to Rs 1 lakh crore were approved for hospitalization. Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries can avail cashless and paperless health services in more than 29,000 listed hospitals across the country.
The government took this decision in the cabinet
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said while announcing the decisions of the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, he gave information about the major changes made in the Ayushman Bharat scheme (Ayushman Bharat Yojna Rule Change). He said that now the elderly above 70 years of age will also be included in it and the aim of this decision is to benefit 6 crore senior citizens of 4.5 crore families with free health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh. The government said that a new separate card will be issued to the eligible beneficiaries under this scheme. If senior citizens are currently covered under any central government health scheme, they will have the option to switch to Ayushman Bharat. Talking about eligibility under Ayushman Bharat Yojna, all those living in rural areas, destitute or tribals, disabled people of Scheduled Caste or Tribe or those who work in the unorganized sector or those who earn their living by doing daily wages are eligible under this scheme. - Now you have to submit your 10 digit mobile number.
- After this, enter the OTP received on the number in the required space.
- Now select your state on the screen, then enter the mobile number and ration card number.
- After this, complete details will appear on your screen whether you are eligible or not.

If you are eligible for this, then you can go to the nearest CSC Center and apply with your documents.
