Actually, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has recently issued a guideline regarding the Aadhaar card of children, which is called Baal Aadhaar. According to the new guidelines issued by the authority, it is mandatory to update biometric details in the Aadhaar data of children between the ages of five and 15 years.
Recently, UIDAI had informed by tweeting that it is mandatory to update biometric details of children aged 5-15 years and the process of doing so is completely free. Further, the authority in another tweet announced that there will be no change in the child’s Aadhaar number after updating the biometrics. Therefore, the authority has informed the parents to visit the nearest Aadhaar center to fill the form and update the biometric data of the children.
For those who do not know, let us tell you that UIDAI is a government authority, which controls the 12 digit Aadhaar and issues child Aadhaar cards to children below the age of five years. This card is required to get access to various welfare schemes and benefits of the government. Also, it is mandatory as a digital photo identity proof for children from birth.
Here we are telling how you can apply for Child Aadhaar Card:
Step 1. First of all visit the official website of UIDAI at uidai.gov.in.
Step 2. Click on the Aadhaar Card Registration option.
Step 3. Fill in the mandatory information like child’s name, guardian’s phone number and other necessary biometric information related to the child and its parents.
Step 4. After this address, state and other details have to be filled.
Step 5. Check all the details and submit.
Step 6. Next, click on the appointment option.
Step 7. Users will need supporting documents like identity proof, address proof, date of birth and reference number. The Aadhaar executive will carry out further processing and provide an acknowledgment number to track the application process.
