The bank has tweeted about this on its official Twitter handle. The bank has requested the customers to get new chequebooks by tweeting. In the tweet, the bank has said that after October 1, if someone uses the old chequebook, it will not work i.e. money will not be able to transfer. What to do customer

Change IFSC Code from Registration
To change your IFSC code, you need to visit the official website of your bank and then register for the new IFSC code by filling in your details. If your account was in such banks which have been merged then you will have to hand over your old passbook and cheque book to the bank to get the new IFSC code. In return, they will give you a passbook and chequebook containing your updated details.
