Banks will remain closed in Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a holiday for all educational institutions in the state on January 22. Lucknow University has rescheduled the examinations to be held on January 22. A public holiday has been declared in Uttar Pradesh on January 22 in connection with the consecration of the idol of Lord Ram in the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Schools, government offices and banks will remain closed throughout the state on this day. Apart from government banks like SBI, PNB, Bank of India, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, all public and private sector banks like HDFC Bank, ICICI, Axis, Bandhan Bank will remain closed in UP on January 22.

Madhya Pradesh

In Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has declared January 22 as a school holiday to encourage people to celebrate this day as a festival. Yadav has issued orders to keep all types of shops including liquor and cannabis shops closed.

Goa

The Goa government has also declared a holiday for government employees and schools on January 22 in view of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya.

Chhattisgarh

The Chhattisgarh government has declared a holiday on January 22 in all government schools and colleges in the state to celebrate the consecration ceremony of the new idol at the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Haryana

Haryana government has also announced closure of schools on January 22 in view of the inauguration of Ram Temple. Also, consumption of liquor will not be allowed anywhere in the state on the day of the consecration ceremony.
