Bank Employees: The festival of Diwali (Diwali 2023) is just around the corner. In such a situation, many banks have announced to give separate money to their employees for buying sweets and gifts as per tradition.



The festival of Diwali will be celebrated across the country on 12 November 2023. If we talk about this amount, India’s largest bank State Bank of India (SBI) has given Rs 2,500 to each of its employees before Diwali. The annual report of 2023 states that more than 2 lakh employees work in State Bank.

SBI had issued circular

State Bank of India (SBI) had also issued a circular regarding this. According to the circular issued, all the employees have been given Rs 2,500 from the Welfare Fund for sweets and dry fruits. SBI’s note dated November 3 said that in this regard, we recommend that every employee in the circle and CC branches should be given sweets, dry fruits, hampers and vouchers along with a greeting card from the President.

Punjab National Bank also gave gifts to its employees

Apart from State Bank of India (SBI), Punjab National Bank (PNB) has also given Rs 1,000 to all its employees on the occasion of Diwali. In this regard, Punjab National Bank said that to increase the happiness on the occasion of Diwali and to express the unwavering dedication of our employees, we are happy to inform that we have given away dry fruits worth Rs 1000 to everyone. And have decided to give chocolate. More than 1 lakh employees work in PNB. Union Bank of India has given Rs 1,500 to every employee to celebrate Diwali. While Indian Overseas Bank has given Rs 2,000 and Canara Bank has given Rs 2,500.

UCO Bank will not give sweets to defaulters

UCO Bank on November 2 withdrew its decision to give sweet packets to the top 10 defaulters. These are the people who have not repaid their loans. Earlier, the bank had issued a circular that the top management has said that like other customers, the branch manager will have to meet the top 10 defaulters and give them sweets. Zonal Chiefs are also advised to meet the top 10 defaulters of their zone and congratulate them. The bank had said that talking to such customers can reduce the distance between them and the bank.
