Full schedule of holidays:

September 20 (Friday):

The Friday after Eid-e-Milad-ul-Nabi holds special significance in Jammu and Srinagar. There will be a holiday across the state on this day, and all public and private banks will be closed. Eid-e-Milad is celebrated as the birthday of Prophet Mohammad, and the next day special Friday prayers are offered. Therefore, banking services will not be available in Jammu and Kashmir on this special occasion.

September 21 (Saturday):

Banks will remain closed in Kerala on the occasion of Sri Narayana Guru Samadhi Day. Sri Narayana Guru was a famous social reformer who raised his voice against the caste system. There will be a bank and public holiday in Kerala to commemorate his Samadhi Day.

September 22 (Sunday):

This day is a weekly holiday across the country. Banks will remain closed in all states on this day, which is as per the normal procedure.

September 23 (Monday):

Holiday has been declared in Jammu and Srinagar on the occasion of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji’s birthday. Maharaja Hari Singh was the last ruler of Jammu and Kashmir, and this day is specially celebrated to honor his contribution. There will be no banking services on this day.

List of bank holidays

  • September 20 (Friday): The day after Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi; banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar.
  • September 21 (Saturday): Sri Narayana Guru Samadhi Day; banks will remain closed in Kerala.
  • September 22 (Sunday): Banks will remain closed in all states due to weekly holiday.
