Bank Holiday 2025: According to the bank holiday list of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will remain closed for two days this week. At the same time, banks are going to be closed for a total of 14 days in February. In such a situation, if you have to settle any important work related to the bank, then definitely check the list of holidays. This month, banks will be closed on 26 February 2025 in many cities across the country on the occasion of Mahashivratri.
In which states will the banks be closed when?
Mahashivratri (26 February): On this day, banks will be closed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh.
Losar (28 February): On this day, banks will be closed in Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim.
Apart from this, banks will remain closed on every Sunday and second-fourth Saturday. However, if you have to do any bank related work then there is no need to panic. Net banking, mobile banking and UPI services will continue to work during these holidays. However, check clearance and work in bank branches may remain halted.

Former RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das appointed as Principal Secretary to PM Modi
Former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das was on Saturday appointed as the second Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Retired Gujarat cadre IAS officer P K Mishra is currently serving as the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister. According to an official order, Das, a retired Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer, will have a tenure spanning the term of the Prime Minister or until further orders.
