New Delhi. If you have any work related to banks this week, then it would be better to settle it online. According to the guidelines of RBI, this week banks will remain closed for 6 days. In such a situation, if you need to go to a bank branch for any work, then first check the complete list of holidays.

The Reserve Bank fixes a list of holidays for banks in every financial year. It may be different for every state. RBI schedules holidays for banks in three categories. This includes Negotiable Instruments Act holidays, real time gross settlement holidays and bank closing of account holidays. If we talk about the whole month, then in August there will be a total of 18 days of holidays in banks in different parts of the country. In this, apart from the second and fourth Saturdays, Sunday holidays are also included.

When will the banks be closed this week

According to the RBI guidelines, banks will remain closed on 8th, 9th, 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th August this week. Apart from festivals like Raksha Bandhan, Muharram and Patriot Day, there will be holidays on Saturday and Sunday. In such a situation, bank branches will remain open and work will be done only on Wednesday, 10th August.

Which day will be which festival

  • Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar on 8th August on the occasion of Muharram.
  • Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bangalore, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur and Ranchi on the occasion of Muharram on 9th August.
  • Banks will not open in Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Dehradun, Jaipur and Shimla on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan on 11th August.
  • Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated in Kanpur and Lucknow region on 12th August and banks will remain closed on this occasion.
  • Patriot Day will be celebrated in Imphal on 13th August and this day will be a holiday in banks.
  • Banks will remain closed across the country on Sunday, August 14.

6 days off next week also

  • On August 15, on the occasion of Independence Day, branches of banks across the country will remain closed.
  • Banks in Belapur, Mumbai and Nagpur will remain closed on August 16 to mark the Parsi New Year.
  • Bank branches in Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Kanpur and Lucknow will remain closed on August 18 on the occasion of Janmashtami.
  • Bank branches in Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Gangtok, Jaipur, Jammu, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong and Shimla will remain closed on August 19 on account of Janmashtami.
  • Banks will be closed on 20th August on the occasion of Shri Krishna Ashtami in Hyderabad.
  • There will be no work in banks on Sunday, August 21.
