Bank Holiday in October 2024: September is about to end and the new month will start soon. In October, 2024, banks are going to have many holidays due to festivals. This includes holidays from Sharadiya Navratri to Dussehra and Diwali. If you also have any important work related to banks in October, then leave the house only after seeing the list of holidays here. Otherwise you will have to face trouble later.

Banks will remain closed for 15 days in October

Bank is an important financial institution. There are many such works which get stuck due to bank closure. In such a situation, for the convenience of the customers, the Reserve Bank releases the list of bank holidays before the beginning of the month. According to RBI, banks are going to have 15 days off out of 31 days in October. Apart from Saturday and Sunday holidays, it also includes holidays for different festivals. In October, banks will remain closed for one day due to assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, banks will also remain closed on different days due to Gandhi Jayanti, Durga Puja, Dussehra, Lakshmi Puja, Kati Bihu and Diwali.

When will banks remain closed in October 2024

  • 1 October 2024- Banks will remain closed in Jammu due to assembly elections.
  • 2 October 2024- Banks will remain closed across the country on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
  • 3 October 2024- Banks will remain closed in Jaipur due to Navratri establishment.
  • 6 October 2024- There will be a holiday across the country due to Sunday.
  • 10 October 2024- Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Guwahati, Kohima and Kolkata due to Durga Puja, Dussehra and Mahasaptami.
  • 11 October 2024- Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gangtok, Guwahati, Imphal, Itanagar, Kohima, Imphal, Kolkata, Patna, Ranchi and Shillong due to Dussehra, Maha Ashtami, Mahanavami, Ayudha Puja, Durga Puja and Durga Ashtami.
  • 12 October 2024- Banks are going to remain closed in almost the whole country due to Dussehra, Vijayadashami, Durga Puja.
  • 13 October 2024- Banks are going to remain closed in the whole country due to Sunday.
  • 14 October 2024- Banks will remain closed in Gangtok due to Durga Puja or Dasain.
  • 16 October 2024- Banks will remain closed in Agartala and Kolkata on Lakshmi Puja.
  • 17 October 2024- Banks will remain closed in Bengaluru and Guwahati on Maharishi Valmiki and Kanti Bihu.
  • 20 October 2024- Banks will be closed across the country due to Sunday.
  • 26 October 2024- Banks will be closed across the country due to fourth Saturday.
  • 27 October 2024- Banks will be closed across the country due to Sunday.
  • 31 October 2024- Banks will be closed across the country due to Diwali.

Work will not stop even if the bank is closed

Due to the festive season in October, banks in many states of the country are closed continuously on different festivals, but even after this, none of your important work will stop. You can use UPI, net banking or mobile banking to transfer money from one account to another despite the bank holiday. ATM can be used for cash withdrawal.
