Ram Navami, celebrated across the country, is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Rama. Banks will remain closed in most of the states of the country on April 17 on the occasion of Ram Navami. The festival, important for followers of the Hindu faith, falls on the ninth day of the month of Chaitra, the first month of the Hindu lunar calendar. According to the official bank holiday calendar of RBI, public and private sector banks will remain closed on Wednesday, April 17 due to Ram Navami.

Banks will remain closed in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Gangtok, Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), Jaipur, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Ranchi and Shimla on the occasion of Ram Navami. RBI releases the list of bank holidays on its official website https://www.rbi.org.in/. Due to holidays, customers cannot go to the bank branch to withdraw and deposit money. However, many banking services can usually be done online or through mobile banking apps.
