Banks have been given 13 days holiday in October 2021 by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Here is the list of holidays to be given to banks in October 2021 so that you can avoid trouble.





The festive season is starting with Navratri 7 October 2021 across the country. During this, there will be no normal work in banks for many days. According to the website of Reserve Bank of India (RBI), there will be a total of 17 days bank holidays across the country (Bank Holidays in October 2021). However, these 17 holidays will be given in different states. If you also want to get some work done by going to your bank branch, then before leaving home, see the complete list of holidays. This will save you from unnecessary trouble.

Out of these 17 days holidays, 13 days have been given by RBI. Here is a list of the total holidays available to banks in October 2021 so that you can schedule your work accordingly and you will not face any problem. Banks in Haryana will remain closed on October 7 on Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti. In Manipur too, banks will remain closed on this day due to local religious festivals. Due to being the second Saturday, there will be no work in banks across the country on October 9. At the same time, banks across the country will remain closed on October 10 due to Sunday’s holiday. Banks will have a holiday on this day in October 2021

  • Banks will remain closed in Agartala and Kolkata on 12 October due to Durga Puja Maha Saptami.
  • Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Kolkata as well as Bhubaneswar, Gangtok, Guwahati, Patna and Ranchi on 13 October due to Durga Puja Maha Ashtami.
  • On October 14, there will be a bank holiday in Agartala, Bhubaneshwar, Kolkata, Gangtok, Guwahati, Kanpur, Lucknow, Shillong, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Patna and Ranchi on account of Durga Puja Mahanavami.
  • Banks across the country will remain closed on October 15 on Dussehra. However, on this day there will be work in the banks of Imphal and Shimla.
  • Banks will remain closed in Gangtok on October 16 due to Durga Puja.
  • After this, on October 17, due to the holiday of Sunday, there will be a holiday of banks across the country.
  • Due to Kati Bihu, the banks of Guwahati will remain closed on October 18.

Banks will remain closed on October 19 on Eid-e-Milad



  • Banks will remain closed on October 19 due to Eid-e-Milad. Banks in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bhopal, Chennai, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Delhi, Raipur, Ranchi, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram will remain closed on this day.
  • Banks in Agartala, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Kolkata and Shimla will remain closed on October 20 on Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti.
  • Due to being the first Jumma after Eid-e-Milad, there will be a bank holiday in Jammu and Srinagar on October 22.
  • Then, on 23 October being the fourth Saturday and 24 October being a Sunday, banks across the country will remain closed.
  • Banks will remain closed in Jammu-Srinagar on October 26 as well.
  • Banks across the country will be closed on 31 October due to Sunday holiday.
