The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued an order to replace the ₹2000 currency notes. The deadline to exchange these notes has been set for September 30. According to the bank holiday list of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will remain closed for 12 days in the month of June. This includes the second and fourth Saturdays as well as Sundays. Of these, 6 are listed under the Holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, while the remaining six days are weekend holidays. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has put the holidays into three segments, holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act and real time gross settlement holiday and bank account closing holiday.

  • 4 June 2023: Banks will remain closed due to Sunday.
  • 10 June 2023: Banks will remain closed due to second Saturday.
  • 11 June 2023: All banks will remain closed on Sunday.
  • 15 June 2023: Banks will remain closed in Odisha and Mizoram and Odisha on account of Raja Sankranti.
  • 18 June 2023: Banks will remain closed due to Sunday.
  • 20 June 2023: Banks will remain closed in Odisha due to Rath Yatra.
  • 24 June 2023: All banks will remain closed on the fourth Saturday.
  • 25 June 2023: Sunday is a bank holiday.
  • 26 June 2023: Banks will remain closed in Tripura due to Kharchi Puja.
  • 28 June 2023: Banks will remain closed in Kerala, Maharashtra and Jammu and Kashmir for Eid ul Azha.
  • 29 June 2023: Banks will remain closed on the occasion of Eid ul Azha.
  • 30 June 2023: Banks will remain closed in Mizoram and Odisha due to Rima Eid Ul Azha.
