New Delhi. On the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, today i.e. on April 4, banks will remain closed and there will be no work in the stock market. This week, between April 2 and April 9, banks will remain closed for 3 days. During this, there will be weekly Saturdays and Sundays, as well as banks will remain closed on Fridays on the occasion of Good Friday.
This week, due to Mahavir Jayanti on 4th April, Good Friday on 7th April and Saturday and Sunday on 8th and 9th April, there will be a holiday in the banks, as well as there will be no work in the stock market.

According to the official bank holiday program of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), public and private sector banks will remain closed on April 4 on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti in many states. Banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Lucknow, New Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti on Tuesday i.e. 4th April.
Banks will remain closed for 15 days in April
Banks will remain closed for a total of 15 days in the country’s banks in the month of April. It also includes Saturday and Sunday holidays.
- April 4, 2023 – Bank holidays in Raipur, Chennai, Jaipur, Kanpur, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Lucknow, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi and Ranchi due to Mahavir Jayanti.
- April 5, 2023- Banks will remain closed in Hyderabad due to the birth anniversary of Babu Jagjivan Ram.
- 7 April 2023- Due to Good Friday, banks will remain closed in the whole country except Shimla, Agartala, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Jaipur, Jammu and Srinagar.
- There will be second Saturday on 8th April and Sunday on 9th April 2023.
- April 14, 2023- Due to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, except Shillong, Aizawl, Bhopal, New Delhi, Raipur and Shimla, banks will remain closed in the whole country, as well as there will be a holiday in the stock market.
- April 15, 2023- Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Guwahati, Kochi, Kolkata, Shimla and Thiruvananthapuram due to Vishu, Bohag Bihu, Himachal Day, Bengali New Year.
- April 16, 2023 – There will be no work in the bank if it is a Sunday.
- April 18, 2023- Due to Shab-e-Kadra, there will be a holiday in banks in Jammu and Srinagar.
- April 21, 2023- Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Jammu, Kochi, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram due to Eid-ul-Fitr.
- April 22, 2023- Due to Eid and fourth Saturday, banks will remain closed in many states of the country.
- Banks will remain closed on April 23, 2023 and April 30, 2023 due to Sundays.
