Janmashtami 2023 Bank Holidays in India: The festival of Janmashtami dedicated to Lord Krishna is being celebrated across the country. In some parts Janmashtami is being celebrated on 6th September and somewhere on 7th September. There will also be a holiday in banks on such occasions. Banks remained closed in many districts of the country even on the 6th and now there will be a holiday in banks on 7th September i.e. tomorrow also.

Janmashtami usually falls in two days, some people celebrate it according to their Muhurta, while at some places Janmashtami is celebrated keeping in mind the date on which the celebration takes place in Krishna’s birthplace. These dates also differ in different states. In such a situation, this time also Janmashtami is being celebrated on both 6th and 7th. In such a situation, banks will remain closed on both the days in different districts.

September 7, 2023 – Krishna Janmashtami (Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Gangtok, Telangana, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Lucknow on this day Banks will remain closed in Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla and Srinagar.)
