Senior Citizen Facility: The very next day of RBI’s decision, IDFC First Bank has made a big announcement for its customers. Under this announcement, senior citizens will be given customized facilities by the bank.
IDFC First Bank: A day ago, RBI has given an opportunity to everyone from the common man to the elite class to be happy by reducing the repo rate by 25 basis points. The very next day of this announcement, private sector giant IDFC First Bank has started a special kind of banking service for senior citizens. These services offered by the bank include Senior Citizen Savings Account and Senior Citizen Fixed Deposit (FD). The bank has added a ‘Senior Citizen Specials’ section to its mobile banking app. In this, the elderly will be able to get special facilities.
Free health membership and medical facilities available
Keeping senior citizens in mind, the bank is providing special customized investment solutions. These benefits include 0.5% extra interest on FD, no penalty on pre-mature FD closure, cyber insurance coverage up to Rs 2 lakh and free health membership and medical facilities. According to the information given on the bank’s website, senior citizens are being given one year free MediBuddy health membership.
Unlimited free video consultation with doctor
Under MediBuddy health membership, there is unlimited free doctor video consultation for four family members. Up to 15% discount will be available in network pharmacy and there is also a full body health checkup facility on 50+ parameters. A balance of Rs 500 will be given in the MediBuddy wallet. IDFC FIRST Bank’s Senior Citizen Savings Account eliminates more than 30 normal banking charges, making banking more affordable. These charges include IMPS, ATM transaction charges, SMS alert charges, debit card issue charges etc.
Everyday banking will become easier
The bank said that by waiving all these charges, everyday banking will become more affordable for senior citizens. Apart from this, the bank has also removed the penalty for premature withdrawal of FD, so that senior citizens can get money immediately when needed. IDFC First Bank is offering cyber insurance especially for senior citizens. This insurance protects account holders from losses caused by online fraud such as phishing, spoofing, vishing and other cyber attacks.
