Bank New Charges: Earlier, when you used to withdraw money from another bank’s ATM instead of your home bank’s ATM, you had to pay Rs 17, which has now become Rs 19. On the other hand, earlier you had to pay Rs 6 for checking the balance from another bank’s ATM, which has now been made Rs 7.

Bank New Charges: While going to the bank, we think that wow, what a good institution it is which gives us the best facilities and does not charge anything for it, but you are wrong. Actually, the bank does not earn only by charging interest on the loan from you. Rather, it charges fees for keeping your jewelry and money.

Recently, RBI has approved NPCI to increase the charges for ATM transactions and balance checking. The charges will be applicable across the country from May 1, 2025. Let us tell you that this charge is nothing, the bank deducts money from you for check book, transaction and even if the amount in the account is less than the minimum balance. We are telling you about these charges in detail here.

This is the charge on ATM transaction

Earlier, when you used to withdraw money from another bank’s ATM instead of your home bank’s ATM, you had to pay Rs 17, which has now become Rs 19. On the other hand, earlier you had to pay Rs 6 for checking balance from another bank’s ATM, which has now been increased to Rs 7.

Bank charge for cheque book

If you open a savings account, you are given a cheque book of 10 cheques free. Banks charge different fees for the cheque book that comes with your name, in which some banks give the first 10 to 20 cheques free and charge Rs 20 per cheque for the remaining cheques. If we talk about the country’s largest government bank SBI, then it charges Rs 75 for a cheque book of 25 cheques. If we talk about current account, then the charge for this cheque book goes up to Rs 500 to Rs 700 for a cheque book of 100 cheques.

Bank charges for transactions

Just like cheque books, banks have different charges for transactions. This is levied if the minimum balance is not maintained. If the balance in someone’s account is less than Rs 5000 or Rs 10000, then the bank deducts Rs 300 to Rs 500. Apart from this, banks also charge Rs 5 to Rs 25 on an annual basis for SMS alerts.
